Easy Pie Crust

I love simple recipes. I love simple recipes that are DELICIOUS! This original recipe calls for all white all-purpose flour, which I’ve always used, but I halved it with wheat flour and it turned out GREAT. Very flaky and delicious. This is a recipe for a pie 2-crust. You can halve the recipe for a pie 1-crust. If you want to sweeten up the crust for desserts then I suggest adding 2 tbs of sugar or substitute. Also, 1 stick of butter can also be substituted for Crisco shortening. Using half shortening and half butter also works. [Pictured is a chicken pot pie.]

  2. Drizzle the ice water, a little at a time and mix with a wooden spoon or use your hands until the dough comes together.
  3. Wrap the dough in a ball and cover with plastic wrap (refrigerate if not used immediately). Divide the dough in 2 even halves.
  4. In between two parchment paper, roll out each halve until 10″x10″. Line pie pan, fill with filling and bake for 30minutes or until golden brown. If only 1 crust, pre-bake before filling for 15 minutes.
